The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has selected Steve Smith to be one of the recipients of the 2015 Minnie Jackson — Basketball Human Spirit Award. Steve, along with Kansas coach Bill Self and former Reebok CEO Paul Fireman, will be honored at a ceremony to be held on September 10, 2015 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Minnie Jackson — Basketball Human Spirit Award, named after a former Harlem Globetrotter, is a prestigious honor given to athletes and/or other individuals in the sports industry who achieve the highest level of dedication to making the world a better place through their humanitarian efforts.
